th Him are the keys of the unseen treasures-- none knows them
but He; and He knows what is in the land and the sea, and there falls
not a leaf but He knows it, nor a grain in the darkness of the earth,
nor anything green nor dry but (it is all) in a clear book.

Y: It is He who doth take your souls by night, and hath knowledge of all
that ye have done by day: by day doth He raise you up again; that a
term appointed be fulfilled; In the end unto Him will be your return;
then will He show you the truth of all that ye did.
P: He it is Who gathereth you at night and knoweth that which ye commit
by day. Then He raiseth you again to life therein, that the term
appointed (for you) may be accomplished. And afterward unto Him is your
return. Then He will proclaim unto you what ye used to do.
S: And He it is Who takes your souls at night (in sleep), and He knows
what you acquire in the day, then He raises you up therein that an
appointed term may be fulfilled; then to Him is your return, then He
will inform you of what you were doing.

Y: He is the irresistible, (watching) from above over His worshippers,
and He sets guardians over you. At length, when death approaches one of
you, Our angels take his soul, and they never fail in their duty.
P: He is the Omnipotent over His slaves. He sendeth guardians over you
until, when death cometh unto one of you, Our messengers receive him,
and they neglect not.
S: And He is the Supreme, above His servants, and He sends keepers over
you; until when death comes to one of you, Our messengers cause him to
die, and they are not remiss.

Y: Then are men returned unto Allah, their protector, the (only)
reality: Is not His the command? and He is the swiftest in taking
account.
P: Then are they restored unto Allah, their Lord, the Just. Surely His
is the judgment. And He is the most swift of reckoners.
S: Then are they sent back to Allah, their Master, the True one; now
surely His is the judgment and He is swiftest in taking account.

Y: Say: "Who is it that delivereth you from the dark recesses of land
and sea, when ye call upon Him in humility and silent terror: 'If He
only delivers us from these (dangers), (we vow) we shall truly show our
gratitude'?"
P: Say: Who delivereth you from the darkness of the land and the sea? Ye
call upon Him humbly and in secret, (saying): If we are delivered from
this (fear) we truly will be of the thankful.
