P: It is not for the idolaters to tend Allah's sanctuaries, bearing
witness against themselves of disbelief. As for such, their works are
vain and in the Fire they will abide.
S: The idolaters have no right to visit the mosques of Allah while
bearing witness to unbelief against themselves, these it is whose
doings are null, and in the fire shall they abide.

Y: The mosques of Allah shall be visited and maintained by such as
believe in Allah and the Last Day, establish regular prayers, and
practise regular charity, and fear none (at all) except Allah. It is
they who are expected to be on true guidance.
P: He only shall tend Allah's sanctuaries who believeth in Allah and the
Last Day and observeth proper worship and payeth the poor-due and
feareth none save Allah. For such (only) is it possible that they can
be of the rightly guided.
S: Only he shall visit the mosques of Allah who believes in Allah and
the latter day, and keeps up prayer and pays the poor-rate and fears
none but Allah; so (as for) these, it may be that they are of the
followers of the right course.

Y: Do ye make the giving of drink to pilgrims, or the maintenance of the
Sacred Mosque, equal to (the pious service of) those who believe in
Allah and the Last Day, and strive with might and main in the cause of
Allah? They are not comparable in the sight of Allah: and Allah guides
not those who do wrong.
P: Count ye the slaking of a pilgrim's thirst and tendance of the
Inviolable Place of Worship as (equal to the worth of) him who
believeth in Allah and the Last Day, and striveth in the way of Allah?
They are not equal in the sight of Allah. Allah guideth not wrongdoing
folk.
S: What! do you make (one who undertakes) the giving of drink to the
pilgrims and the guarding of the Sacred Mosque like him who believes in
Allah and the latter day and strives hard in Allah's way? They are not
equal with Allah; and Allah does not guide the unjust people.

Y: Those who believe, and suffer exile and strive with might and main,
in Allah's cause, with their goods and their persons, have the highest
rank in the sight of Allah: they are the people who will achieve
(salvation).
P: Those who believe, and have left their homes and striven with their
wealth and their lives in Allah's way are of much greater worth in
Allah's sight. These are they who are triumphant.
S: Those who believed and fled (their homes), and s
