heir Lord, (saying): "If Thou givest us a goodly child, we vow we shall (ever) be grateful." P: He it is Who did create you from a single soul, and therefrom did make his mate that he might take rest in her. And when he covered her she bore a light burden, and she passed (unnoticed) with it, but when it became heavy they cried unto Allah, their Lord, saying: If thou givest unto us aright we shall be of the thankful. S: He it is Who created you from a single being, and of the same (kind) did He make his mate, that he might incline to her; so when he covers her she bears a light burden, then moves about with it; but when it grows heavy, they both call upon Allah, their Lord: If Thou givest us a good one, we shall certainly be of the grateful ones. 007.190 Y: But when He giveth them a goodly child, they ascribe to others a share in the gift they have received: but Allah is Exalted high above the partners they ascribe to Him. P: And cannot give them help, nor can they help themselves? S: And they have no power to give them help, nor can they help themselves. 007.193 Y: If ye call them to guidance, they will not obey: For you it is the same whether ye call them or ye hold your peace! P: And if ye call them to the Guidance, they follow you not. Whether ye call them or are silent is all one for you. S: And if you invite them to guidance, they will not follow you; it is the same to you whether you invite them or you are silent. 007.194 Y: Verily those whom ye call upon besides Allah are servants like unto you: Call upon them, and let them listen to your prayer, if ye are (indeed) truthful!
