Y: We have made the Night and the Day as two (of Our) Signs: the Sign of
the Night have We obscured, while the Sign of the Day We have made to
enlighten you; that ye may seek bounty from your Lord, and that ye may
know the number and count of the years: all things have We explained in
detail.
P: And We appoint the night and the day two portents. Then We make dark
the portent of the night, and We make the portent of the day
sight-giving, that ye may seek bounty from your Lord, and that ye may
know the computation of the years, and the reckoning; and everything
have We expounded with a clear expounding.
S: And We have made the night and the day two signs, then We have made
the sign of the night to pass away and We have made the sign of the day
manifest, so that you may seek grace from your Lord, and that you might
know the numbering of years and the reckoning; and We have explained
everything with distinctness.

Y: Every man's fate We have fastened on his own neck: On the Day of
Judgment We shall bring out for him a scroll, which he will see spread
open.
P: And every man's augury have We fastened to his own neck, and We shall
bring forth for him on the Day of Resurrection a book which he will
find wide open.
S: And We have made every man's actions to cling to his neck, and We
will bring forth to him on the resurrection day a book which he will
find wide open:

soul this day to make out an account against thee."
P: (And it will be said unto him): Read thy Book. Thy soul sufficeth as
reckoner against thee this day.
S: Read your book; your own self is sufficient as a reckoner against you
this day.
