in Esperantoland_ has called forth an admirable suggestion: That
everywhere the example of railway time-tables should be followed. This
is already international, and thus no confusion could arise. Kvin dekdu,
5.12, dek kvardek, 10.40, etc., will enable us to keep our appointments
with punctuality.

We have done our best to buy in copies of the _First Number_ of
The Esperantist, with the very unsatisfactory result that
there are now to be had only six clean copies at 2/6 each.

Our infant growth, though rapid, has not yet warranted the
establishment of a Standard Examination in Esperanto, for the
awarding of an _Atesto de Kapableco_. Those desirous of obtaining
this must therefore still do so under the auspices of the French
Society.

Nevertheless, it is to be hoped that, ere long, we also may be able
to issue British Certificates of Merit.

As so many Esperantists are occupied in the City, it has been
proposed that a monthly meeting might be arranged over some
convenient lunch or tea table. Will those Gesamideanoj able and
willing to fall in with the proposal kindly communicate with the
Editor to that effect?

de artikolo publikigita en la _Revue Scientifique_. Jen la teksto:

Tiu titolo rememorigas al mi strangan fakton, kiun mi okulvidis, kiu
en la momento tre ridigis min kaj kiu, poste, pripensigis min; mi
estis devigita kredi, ke iaj bestoj povas kalkuli.

Cetere vi povos tion jugxi, mi tuj rakontos al vi la fakton.

En la cxirkauxajxo de Montmouillon en la Departamento La Vienne en
Francujo, unu el miaj onkloj posedas bienon. Tie la gefarmamastroj
kaj liaj infanoj zorgas pri gxi. Ili edukas en gxi la kutimajn
bestojn, bovojn, sxafojn, porkojn, k.t.p.

Cxiutage, kiam la vetero ne tion malebligis, oni elirigas la bestojn
el la staloj, kaj oni alkondukas ilin sur la kampojn, kie ili sin
pasxtas. Kiam baldaux eknoktigxos, oni rekondukas ilin al la staloj.
