and the
moon became all as blood; (13)and the stars of heaven fell to the
earth, as a fig-tree casts its untimely figs, when shaken by a great
wind; (14)and the heaven parted asunder as a scroll rolled together;
and every mountain and island were moved out of their places. (15)And
the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the chief captains, and
the rich men, and the strong men, and every bondman and freeman, hid
themselves in the caves and in the rocks of the mountains; (16)and
they say to the mountains and to the rocks: Fall upon us, and hide us
from the face of him who sits on the throne, and from the wrath of the
Lamb; (17)because the great day of his wrath is come, and who is able
to stand?
VII.
AND after this, I saw four angels standing on the four corners of the
earth, holding the four winds of the earth, that no wind should blow
on the earth, nor on the sea, nor on any tree.
(2)And I saw another angel coming up from the rising of the sun,
having the seal of the living God; and he cried with a loud voice to
the four angels, to whom it was given to hurt the earth and the sea,
(3)saying: Hurt not the earth, nor the sea, nor the trees, till we
have sealed the servants of our God upon their foreheads.
(4)And I heard the number of the sealed. A hundred and forty-four
thousand were sealed, out of every tribe of the sons of Israel. (5)out
of the tribe of Judah were sealed twelve thousand; out of the tribe of
Reuben, twelve thousand; out of the tribe of Gad, twelve thousand;
(6)out of the tribe of Asher, twelve thousand; out of the tribe of
Naphtali, twelve thousand; out of the tribe of Manasseh, twelve
thousand; (7)out of the tribe of Simeon, twelve thousand; out of the
tribe of Levi, twelve thousand; out of the tribe of Issachar, twelve
thousand; (8)out of the tribe of Zebulun, twelve thousand; out of the
tribe of Joseph, twelve thousand; out of the tribe of Benjamin, twelve
thousand, were sealed.
(9)After these things I saw, and behold a great multitude, which no
one could number, out of every nation and all tribes and peoples and
tongues, standing before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed in
white robes, and palms in their hands. (10)And they cry with a loud
voice, saying: Salvation to our God, who sits upon the throne, and to
the Lamb. (11)And all the angels were standing round the throne and
the elders and the four animals, and fell before the throne on their
faces, and worshiped God, (12
