groepjes die men bij iederen stap ontmoet, voor de aardige meisjes
in kleurigen dracht die in druk gesprek aan gindschen fontein hare
waterkruiken komen vullen, voor den minnaar die zijne beminde een
lied voorzingt onder begeleiding der guitaar, voor den prachtigen
monnik in onderhandeling over de reparatie van een paar schoenen, en
voor wat niet al! Een aardiger herinnering aan dit liefelijk plaatsje
zou moeilijk zijn te vinden.

Mogen bijgaande reproducties en deze korte beschrijving, die slechts
in zwakke klanken de werkelijkheid teruggeeft, velen doen besluiten
een bezoek te brengen aan Taormina.
