ings that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.
(37)And in the daytime he was teaching in the temple; and at night he
went out, and abode in the mount that is called Olivet. (38)And all
the people came early in the morning to him in the temple, to hear
him.
XXII.
NOW the feast of unleavened bread was drawing near, which is called
the Passover; (2)and the chief priests and the scribes were seeking
how they might kill him; for they feared the people.
(3)And Satan entered into Judas called Iscariot, being of the number
of the twelve. (4)And he went away, and consulted with the chief
priests and captains, how he might deliver him up to them. (5)And they
were glad, and covenanted to give him money. (6)And he promised, and
sought opportunity to deliver him up to them in the absence of the
multitude.
(7)And the day of unleavened bread came, when the passover must be
killed. (8)And he sent away Peter and John, saying: Go, and prepare us
the passover, that we may eat it. (9)And they said to him: Where wilt
thou that we prepare? (10)And he said to them: Behold, when ye have
entered into the city, there will meet you a man bearing a pitcher of
water; follow him into the house where he enters in. (11)And ye shall
say to the master of the house: The Teacher says to thee, Where is the
guestchamber, where I may eat the passover with my disciples? (12)And
he will show you a large upper room furnished; there make ready.
(13)And they went away, and found as he had said to them. And they
made ready the passover.
(14)And when the hour came, he reclined at table, and the apostles
with him. (15)And he said to them: I earnestly desired to eat this
passover with you before I suffer. (16)For I say to you, I shall eat
of it no more, until it be fulfilled in the kingdom of God. (17)And
having received a cup, he gave thanks and said: Take this, and divide
it among yourselves. (18)For I say to you, I will not drink of the
fruit of the vine, until the kingdom of God shall come.
(19)And taking a loaf, he gave thanks, and broke it, and gave to them,
saying: This is my body which is given for you; this do in remembrance
of me. (20)And the cup in like manner after supper, saying: This cup
is the new covenant in my blood, which is shed for you.
(21)But, behold, the hand of him that betrays me is with me on the
table. (22)For the Son of man indeed goes, as it was determined; but
woe to that man by whom he is betraye
