down thus on the well. It was about the sixth hour. (7)There comes a woman of Samaria to draw water. Jesus, says to her: Give me to drink. (8)For his disciples had gone away into the city to buy food. (9)The Samaritan woman therefore says to him: How is it that thou, being a Jew, askest drink of me, being a Samaritan woman? For Jews do not associate with Samaritans. (10)Jesus answered and said to her: If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that says to thee, Give me to drink, thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water. (21)Jesus says to her: Woman, believe me, an hour is coming, when ye shall neither in this mountain nor in Jerusalem worship the Father. (22)Ye worship that which ye know not; we worship that which we know; because salvation is of the Jews. (23)But an hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth; for such the Father seeks to worship him. (24)God is spirit; and they that worship him, must worship in spirit and in truth.
