[7:42]Has not the Scripture said that the Christ comes from the offspring of David, and from Bethlehem, the village where David was? [7:43]Then there was a division among the multitude on his account; [7:44]and some of them wished to take him by force, but no one laid hands on him. 7 [7:45]Then came the officers to the chief priests and Pharisees, and they said to them, Why have you not brought him? [7:46]The officers answered, A man never spoke thus. [7:47]The Pharisees answered them, Are you also deceived? [7:48]Has any one of the rulers believed on him, or of the Pharisees? [7:49] But this multitude which know not the law are accursed. [7:50]Nicodemus, he that came to him, being one of them, said to them, [7:51]Does our law judge a man unless it first hears from him and knows what he does?
