r. As already noticed a detachment was with Colonel Boquet to the relief of Fort Pitt in 1763. After the termination of hostilities an offer was made to the officers and men either to settle in America, or return to their own country. In this service Captain Macdonell was mortally wounded, three rank and file killed, and seven wounded.
