Melusine" given by the Philharmonic Society, New York City.
1845. June 4. Production, in English, of William H. Fry's grand
opera "Leonora" at the Chestnut St. Theatre, Philadelphia,--the
first grand opera written by an American. The Italian version
was given at the Academy of Music, New York City, in March,
1858. The cast at Philadelphia was P. Richings, Ed. Seguin,
Brunton, Frazer, Mrs. Seguin and Miss Ince. In the New York
production Sig. Rocco, Gassier, Barratini, Tiberini, Madame de
la Grange, Madame d'Angri and Madame Morra.
