CHAPTER V.
CHRIST'S SERMON ON THE MOUNT.
1 [5:1]AND seeing the multitudes, he went on the mountain and sat down;
and his disciples came to him. [5:2]And he opened his mouth and taught
them, saying; [5:3]Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the
kingdom of heaven. [5:5] Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit
the earth. [5:4]Blessed are those that mourn, for they shall be
comforted. [5:6]Blessed are those that hunger and thirst for
righteousness, for they shall be filled. [5:7]Blessed are the
merciful, for they shall obtain mercy. [5:8]Blessed are the pure in
heart, for they shall see God. [5:9]Blessed are the peace makers, for

shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever shall do
and teach, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. [5:20]For

and Pharisees, you shall by no means enter into the kingdom of heaven.
3 [5:21]You have heard that it was said by the ancients, You shall not
