covering.
(16)But if any man seems to be contentious, we have no such custom,
nor the churches of God.
(17)And while I enjoin this, I praise you not, that ye come together
not for the better, but for the worse. (18)For first of all, when ye
come together in the church, I hear that there are divisions among
you; and I partly believe it. (19)For there must be also sects among
you, that they who are approved may be made manifest among you.
(20)When therefore ye come together into one place, there is no eating
of a supper of the Lord[11:20]. (21)For in eating, each takes without
waiting his own supper; and one is hungry, and another is drunken.
(22)What! have ye not houses to eat and to drink in? Or despise ye the
church of God, and shame those who have not? What shall I say to you?
Shall I praise you in this? I praise you not.
(23)For I received from the Lord, what I also delivered to you, that
the Lord Jesus, in the night in which he was betrayed, took a loaf;

also the cup, after they had supped, saying: This cup is the new
covenant in my blood; this do, as often as ye drink it, in remembrance
of me. (26)For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye
show the Lord's death till he come.
(27)So that whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord
unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and the blood of the Lord.
(28)But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of the bread,
and drink of the cup. (29)For he that eats and drinks, eats and drinks
condemnation to himself, if he discern not the body.
(30)For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep.
(31)For if we judged ourselves; we should not be judged. (32)But being
judged, we are chastened by the Lord, that we may not be condemned
with the world.
(33)Wherefore, my brethren, when coming together to eat, wait for one
another. (34)If any one is hungry, let him eat at home; that ye come
not together unto condemnation. And the rest I will set in order when
I come.
XII.
NOW concerning the spiritual gifts, brethren, I would not have you
ignorant.
(2)Ye know that ye were Gentiles carried away to the dumb idols, as ye
were led. (3)Wherefore I give you to understand, that no one speaking
by the Spirit of God calls Jesus accursed; and no one can say, Jesus
is Lord, but by the Holy Sp
