ght be made known through the church the manifold wisdom of
God, (11)according to the eternal purpose which he made[3:11] in
Christ Jesus our Lord, (12)in whom we have boldness and access[3:12]
with confidence through faith in him.
(13)Wherefore I entreat that ye faint not at my afflictions for you,
which is your glory. (14)For this cause I bow my knees to the Father
of our Lord Jesus Christ[3:14], (15)from whom the whole family in
heaven and on earth is named, (16)that he would grant to you,
according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might
through his Spirit as to the inner man, (17)that Christ may dwell in
your hearts by faith; having been rooted and grounded in love,
(18)that ye may be able to comprehend, with all the saints, what is

(20)Now to him who is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that

world without end. Amen.

When he ascended on high,
He led captivity captive,
And gave gifts to men.
(9)Now this, he ascended, what is it but that he also descended into
the lower parts of the earth? (10)The one who descended, he is also
the one who ascended above all the heavens, that he may fill all
things. (11)And he gave some as apostles, some as prophets, some as
evangelists, some as pastors and teachers; (12)for the perfecting of
the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the building up of the
body of Christ; (13)till we all attain to the unity of the faith and
of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure
of the stature of the fullness of Christ; (14)that we may no lo
