the derivation or etymology of the words. In some dictionaries the etymology occupies only a secondary place, in many cases no derivation being given at all. In the American Illustrated practically every word is given its derivation. Every word has a separate paragraph, thus making it easy to find a word quickly. The tables of arteries, muscles, nerves, veins, etc., are of the greatest help in assembling anatomic facts. In them are classified for quick study all the necessary information about the various structures. Every word is given its definition--a definition that _defines_ in the fewest possible words.
