midst. And he arose and stood. [6:9]And Jesus said to them, I will ask you whether it is lawful on the sabbath to do good or to do evil? to save a life or to destroy? [6:10]And looking round upon them all he said to him, Stretch out your hand. And he did so; and his hand was restored. CHRIST CALLING THE TWELVE APOSTLES. 1 [6:12]AND in those days he went out on the mountain to pray, and spent the whole night in prayer to God. [6:13]And when it was day he called his disciples; and having chosen twelve of them, whom he named apostles, [6:14] Simon, whom he also named Peter, and Andrew his brother, James and John, Philip and Bartholomew, [6:15]Matthew and Thomas, James, the son of Alpheus, and Simon called Zealot, [6:16]Judas the brother of James, and Judas Iscariot, who was the traitor, [6:17]he went down with them and stood on a plain; and a multitude of his disciples, and a great multitude of the people from all Judea and Jerusalem, and the sea coast of Tyre and Sidon, who came to hear him, and to be cured of their diseases; [6:18]and those troubled with impure spirits were cured.
