Minor punctuation errors (e.g. missing period, missing close or open
quote where intended placement is clear) have been corrected without
note. The abbreviations "p.m.", "e.g." and "i.e." have been
standardized, with no space.
In the Latin-1 and ASCII versions, oe/OE ligatures have been changed to
oe/OE. In the ASCII version, the following characters were changed:
mid-dots to periods (in front matter); degree signs to deg.;
multiplication symbols to x; half fractions to -1/2; ae ligatures to ae;
