records that were smashed were the mile run, which was lowered 2-1/5
seconds; Bedford brought down the half-mile record from 2 min. 17-4/5
sec. to 2 min. 12-3/5 sec.; Gunnison made the record in the high hurdles
read 16-3/5 sec. instead of 18-3/5 sec. The record for the 100 was
broken three times. In the final heat the time was 10-3/5 sec., and in
the second and third heats it was 10-2/5 sec. and 10-1/2 sec.
respectively. Stevens made the best time.
