Le 5 brumaire an IV (27 octobre 1795) etait le jour fixe pour la mise en
vigueur de la constitution directoriale. Ce jour-la, les deux tiers de
la convention, conserves au corps legislatif, devaient se reunir au
tiers nouvellement elu par les assemblees electorales, se diviser en
deux conseils, se constituer, et proceder ensuite a la nomination des
